With awareness of wildlife conservation issues in Africa on the rise, the African Safari Company (ASC) announces today its new #IvoryFree Safari to Kenya. This 11-day tour supports several wildlife conservation organizations with a portion of the proceeds donated to WildAid, The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and the African Wildlife Fund (AWF).

The #IvoryFree Safari grants travelers insider access to some of Kenya’s most effective wildlife research and conservation programs. Highlights include visiting Cynthia Mosses’ Amboseli Trust for Elephants, and then heading into the park with an expert guide to search for these majestic giants in Amboseli National Park. At Borana Lodge in Laikipia travelers can participate in such conservation activities as tracking rhino and lion with telemetry receivers, mountain bike along conserva

ncy fence lines to monitor voltage, and ID lions using the whisker spot ID method.

“We designed this special safari on the heels of WildAid’s #IvoryFree petition,” says Julia Nesbitt, director of sales at African Safari Company. “Our travelers are interested in actively participating in conservation and strive to support organizations that are affecting change in Africa.”

Utilizing luxury safari camps and lodges in Kenya’s top game parks and reserves, this safari provides impressive experiences in both Big 5 game viewing and intimate, five-star accommodations.

“We hand-selected unique safari camps with a strong conservation ethos, unparalleled locations and top-notch service,” she adds. “Many of the properties we chose are part of the Pack for a Purpose program, as well; it’s another way to contribute.”

Wildlife conservation and community go hand-in-hand in Africa, and ASC travelers often take along supplies and donations as per the Pack for a Purpose program. Nesbitt has seen first-hand in Africa, that when a community benefits from sustainable tourism efforts, they also become conscious and involved in wildlife conservation.

African Safari Company offers custom safaris, as well as specialty tours such as the #IvoryFree Safari, amateur and professional photography tours, and kid-friendly safaris for families. Safari adventures can focus on food and wine, wildlife migrations, birding, gorilla trekking, art and culture.
