Adventure in Motion is a short film contest hosted by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) a trade organization for the adventure travel industry. ATTA will utilize its marketing channels to promote the film contest, finalists, and winners - including Adventure.Travel - a site focused on sharing initiatives, unique adventure experiences, tour operators, travel advisors, and destinations with adventure travelers around the world. ATTA will also share the videos for voting during its in-person annual event Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS) 3-5 October 2022.
- There is no cash replacement value to the prize and no alternative prize.
- There is no entry fee.
- Submissions open on 8 June 2022.
- Entry deadline for film submissions: 6 July 2022.
- The submission of any entry for the 2022 Adventure in Motion film contest implies acceptance of these terms and conditions by the entrant.
- Film Submissions:
- Films may be submitted by professional or amateur film makers, including companies, organizations, and individuals.
- Although all travel-focused films are encouraged for submission, winners will be announced within the following categories:
- Adventure needs nature
- Adventure needs women
- Adventure needs community
- More than one film may be submitted per company or individual, but only one film can be submitted per category. Also, only one film submission per company or individual will be selected as a category finalist (in total). Please see the Voting Process section below for more details.
- Film submission should have been produced within the last two years - since 1 May 2020
- By submitting your film, you give the right to ATTA to show that film on the ATTA, Adventure.travel, and Adventure In Motion website, social, and other ATTA marketing channels (including www.adventure.travel, www.adventuretravel.biz, www.adventuretravelnews.com, etc).
- By submitting your film, you give the right to ATTA to show that film at ATWS 2022 (if you become a finalist - see below) and agree to provide access to the video file in addition to the embed code. However, submission of a film does not guarantee it will be shown at ATWS 2022.
- Submitted films must abide by all international copyright laws and regulations. This includes all copyright laws and regulations relating to the soundtrack and any music featured in the film. By entering a film to this competition, the entrant acknowledges that the film may be screened in a public place and that the entrant retains all responsibility and liability for all copyright issues relating to the screening of that film in a public place.
- Films should be submitted with the rating of less than or equal to a PG-13 rating. Films containing nudity, racism, drug use, extreme profanity or other objectionable content will be rejected from the contest.
- The ATTA retains the right to refuse any film for whatever reason at its discretion.
- Voting Process:
-
All submitted films will be reviewed by the 2022 Adventure in Motion Film Selection Committee after the submission period ends, and nine (9) films (three per category - noted above) will be selected as category finalists. Category winners will be notified by ATTA.
- Only one film submission per company or individual will be selected as a category finalist. For example, if a company submits separate films for each of the three categories, only one of those films can be selected as a category finalist (in total) and move to the public voting round.
- The nine (9) finalists (three per category) will move on to the public voting round and be promoted to the ATTA’s adventure traveler audience during the 25 July - 19 August 2022 public campaign through Adventure.Travel and ATTA.
- Entrants with films selected to move to this round will be notified via email by 18 July 2022. Entrants will then be asked to sign finalist Terms and Conditions, will be required to submit a copy of the film for promotional use, and will need to agree to have a short pre-roll added to their video for the promotional campaign period by 22 July 2022. If these items are not provided by 22 July 2022, the ATTA may need to select another film.
- During the public campaign viewers will vote on their favorite film by using the form provided on the page promoting the video. Votes will be counted at the end to identify the one (1) top film in each of the three (3) categories as the Category Winners.
- The three (3) Category Winner films will then be screened at the 2022 Adventure Travel World Summit in Lugano, Switzerland, and will be voted on by the delegates attending this conference for a final 2022 Adventure in Motion winner.
- Promotion & Advertising Rules for Film Submitters: (APPLIES TO THE FILMS SELECTED TO PROCEED TO THE PUBLIC VOTING CAMPAIGN)
- In order to keep voting fair for all companies and individuals, paid advertising or any other paid promotion can not be used to solicit votes for your film. ATTA may ask to review any marketing for the campaign, so we ask that you track all marketing efforts to avoid disqualification. We highly encourage unpaid promotion through all of your organic audience channels.
- You may share the video with partners and ask them to share with their audiences, but they may not promote your film with advertising dollars or other paid campaigns.
- Ballot stuffing or other forms of cheating will result in immediate disqualification. Ballot stuffing can include creating fake social media accounts, paying or otherwise rewarding for votes.
- No employees, owners or contractors of the submitting organization are able to vote on their own video, the result of which is disqualification from the Adventure in Motion Contest.
- Whilst every care will be taken with the film material submitted no responsibility for loss or damage will be accepted by ATTA or by anyone associated with this film competition. Each person who submits a film should ensure their films are suitably insured.
- Filmmakers with any enquiries about film entry should contact the Adventure Travel Trade Association at [email protected]
- ATTA Staff and/or their family members are ineligible for the 2022 ATWS Adventure in Motion Film Competition.
