An Africa Travel Co overland safari offers the adventure traveler the opportunity to explore either single or multiple countries’ highlights – without breaking the budget. Our safaris are designed to include the highlights that most travellers have come to see, while offering the more highly adventurous or adrenaline sport activities as optional. This way you choose what you’d like to include or exclude from your holiday. We provide all the necessary equipment on camping tours, and our accommodated safaris provide comfortable 2-3 star accommodation so all you need to bring is yourself, some personal items and your adventure holiday outlook.
We travel in sturdy custom built overland safari vehicles that have been converted to allow us to store all necessary outdoor equipment including water tanks, all kitchen equipment and meal supplies for several days. This way, it’s easy for us to include 3 meals a day on almost all days of your camping trip even when we’re in remote areas, making sure you can enjoy the African backdrop to its fullest.
As crew can be one of the most vital factors on your safari, we provide 3 crew members on camping trips – a Driver, safari cook and trip leader; and 2 on our accommodated safaris; so even though the trips require you participate by helping out with the daily chores, our crew members are on hand to guide and assist. 80% of our crew members are African and will gladly share their personal insights and experiences along the way.
We travel through South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya & Uganda and our trips are designed to interlink so you can get on or off at various points along the way. This ensures you can plan your adventure around the holiday time you have available, and return to continue with the next section when time allows.
Our 3 African bases in Cape Town, South Africa; Victoria Falls , Zimbabwe and Nairobi, Kenya, provide our trips with the necessary support on days when things don’t go exactly as planned, and offer the opportunity to speak to the experts in the area when choosing our private groups option. This is available to groups who’d prefer a private tailor made trip to our scheduled departures.
