An extensive coastal fringe is situated on the northern shore of the Maule River estuary (Northern coast of the Maule Region in Chile). Large dunes, river estuaries and wetlands are home to amazing bird colonies with more of 130 species. A large variety of migratory, residents, nomadic and endemic birds can be found in the area of Vichuquen Lake, the Torca, Agua Dulce, Los Coipos Lagoon, and the Putu wetland.
