This year’s winner of the World Travel Awards “South America's Leading Green Hotel” on Santa Cruz Island refreshes guest experience with new programming for exploring the archipelago

Quito, ECUADOR – So much to see in the Galápagos, so little time? Not necessarily. The award-winning destination The Finch Bay Eco Hotel has revised and refreshed its guest experience, rewarding travelers with improved programing for discovering natural wonders across the archipelago and flexibility for downtime and other activities as well.

Located in a small sandy cove in Puerto Ayora on the island of Santa Cruz, The Finch Bay Eco Hotel has blossomed over a dozen years of operation to become the leader that others follow in the Galápagos. Along the way, management noticed that guests prefer to explore the natural wonders of the islands directly from the hotel at a relaxed pace.

Result? New programing brimming with natural encounters on land and at sea as well as time to kick back, enjoying the beach, lounging by the pool, or engaging in activities such as kayaking, surfing, mountain biking and nature walks.

Available from this month onwards, The Finch Bay Eco Hotel’s new programming will unfold over four, five or eight days. Programs are suitable for travelers of all ages:

  • Yacht Excursions Aboard the Sea Lion – Day-long and multi-day yachting adventures to the islands of North Seymour, Santa Fe, Bartolomé, South Plaza – all within the National Park – with comfortable onboard facilities and freshly-prepared lunch included.
  • Land Excursions Across Santa Cruz Island – Destinations for wildlife viewing and engagement include Manzanillo with its giant tortoises in the wild, the Pit Craters, Divine Bay and Tortuga Bay, with lunch and round-trip transportation provided.
  • Charles Darwin Research Station – No visit to Santa Cruz Island would be complete without a visit to this biological research station operated the Charles Darwin Foundation on the shore of Academy Bay.
  • Plus – Free time scheduled daily for guests to enjoy as they like, dinner every evening at the hotel, greater emphasis on education and environmental interpretation through the hotel’s new Expedition Leader, additional activities such as diving through the hotel’s popular Discover Scuba Diving course, and accommodation-only options.
