Strawbery Banke Museum’s Candlelight Stroll – Portsmouth, N.H.

Now in its 35^th year, the Strawbery Banke Museum’s candlelight stroll carries visitors into the glorious holidays of yester-year as the 10-acre outdoor history museum and its 40 historic buildings recreate December through the centuries in the waterfront Portsmouth neighborhood of Puddle Dock. Thousands of decorations, hand-crafted from natural materials grown in the museum's gardens, flickering wood-and-glass candle lanterns, carolers around the bonfire and costumed role-players set the scene for “The Winter Visitor.” New for 2014 is the Puddle Dock Pond, which offers outdoor ice skating daily from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., and Pickwick’s at Strawbery Banke, which is an immersive 19^th century shopping experience tailored to a Victorian holiday celebration. Christmas Tree Farm at The Rocks Estate - Bethlehem, N.H.

Described as a modern day scene from a Norman Rockwell painting, by visitors, The Rocks Estate is home to one of the most famed Christmas Tree farms in the country. Row upon neat row of scented fir trees grow in the fields. Guests may cut and choose their own Christmas tree if they wish. The holiday ambience permeates from the moment people arrive as they are treated to warm food and hot drinks while Christmas carols are sung along the walk to the estate’s famous Scrapbook Trail. Remick Museum’s Homestead Christmas – Tamworth Village, N.H.

Christmas past meets Christmas present when guests celebrate the holidays in Tamworth Village during the “Christmas in the Village” event on Saturday, December 6. Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm will offer an open house-style event from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. featuring tours of the seasonally decorated Captain Enoch Remick House, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, along with samples of Victorian Christmas cookies and syllabub.
