NH Class Act Video Award Grand Prize Winner Announced
Keene, New Hampshire, April 18th, 2014 – Students in Debbie Sawyer’s fourth grade class at Wheelock Elementary School in Keene received a surprise visit from New Hampshire tourism officials today. Their video, “Alpha-Bet of New Hampshire” won the grand prize in the 2014 Class Act Video Awards sponsored by the New Hampshire Division of Travel and Tourism Development.
Mrs. Sawyer’s class was presented with a trophy after viewing a congratulatory video greeting from Governor Maggie Hassan. Class members won a field trip up Mount Washington on the Cog Railway, with luxury transportation provided by Premier Coach.
Fourth grade classes around New Hampshire were encouraged to create 60 second videos using their imagination, as well as what they have learned about the state, to show visitors how much fun a trip to New Hampshire would be. Twenty-five videos were submitted, with Mrs. Sawyer’s class taking the grand prize this year.
The runner-up prize of a live demonstration by Valley Snow Dogz, LLC, went to Mr. Perkins’ class at Hills Garrison School in Hudson, and the honorable mention award of a pizza party went to Mr. Lines’ class at Plymouth Elementary in Plymouth.
