Poon Hill is the best short trek and most famous hill in the Annapurna region. The hill is located in a beautiful village of Ghorepani which links to several villages as well as the Annapurna Base Camp. Ghorepani used to be a resting point for ancient traders who found water (pani) here for their horses (ghora). Hence, referring to the name Ghorepani. You will explore unique culture, lifestyle, and traditions of Gurung community in this village. Whereas, the hill is related to sub-caste of Gurung known as Poon.
