Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy nonprofit organization carries out philanthropic activities around the globe. Their approach to responsible tourism is that it is an investment in the land and wildlife, the people and cultures, and the economies and communities that draw our guests today and will continue to draw guests for generations to come. By building the capacity of those living on the edge of wilderness and empowering them to lead the direction of their future, they are creating partners, reliable employees, and caretakers of a natural heritage integral to the sustainability of their own company. They embrace the opportunity to support and positively impact lives and livelihoods, and have placed a tremendous importance on educating guests about the benefits of sustainable tourism and its role in providing rich, authentic experiences for travelers.

They have 30 projects across all seven continents which fall into four categories: education, health, conservation, and enterprise. A few examples of AKP’s diverse and impactful projects are Cambodia Clean Water Project, Literacy Campaign, Maternity Ward and many more.

How To Get Involved

1. Visit AKP projects led by coordinator.
2. Visit schools and interact with the children, and families in these communities.
3. Those that are inspired can work directly with AKP volunteering.
