Crooked Trails Healthy Kitchens in Peru

About Us

Crooked Trails created a volunteer tourism project making smokeless kitchens in the villages of Umasbamba and Vicos in Peru. To date, their volunteer travelers have constructed over 60 of these wonderful projects which vent smoke, create more heat, use less wood and provide hot water for families at altitudes of over 14,000 feet who had none of these basics before.

How To Get Involved

• Travelers going to Peru can contact Crooked Trails and plan on building one of these wonderful ovens. Crooked Trails will arrange your homestay, transportation and project in partnership with our local guides and families.
