Save the Tiger

About Us

In 1994, Brian Weirum launched Mountain Travel Sobek's first Save the Tiger trip, at a time when the tiger conservation community was shocked to discover that tigers in India and Nepal were being slaughtered to satisfy a market thousands of miles away. That first trip was a resounding success, so in 1996 he established The Fund for the Tiger, a tax-exempt, non-profit public charity dedicated to making a difference in the fight to save the world's last remaining wild tigers. Mountain Travel Sobek continues to run this annual trip and donates $300 for every participant to The Fund for the Tiger.
