Antarctic Dream offers a unique product, with sail from Ushuaia, the provincial capital of Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. After an exciting sailing through the Drake Passage, passengers will arrive in the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands. The M/V Antarctic Dream, is an ice-rated ship built in Holland specifically to navigate in polar areas, commissioned by the Chilean Navy. His first name was "Piloto Pardo" in honor of the Chilean pilot who in 1916 helped rescue the explorers who accompanied Sir Ernest Shackleton in his unsuccessful attempt to reach the South Pole. After leaving to serve the Chilean Navy, the ship was acquired by Antarctic Shipping SA, which began its renovation to combine their natural conditions of polar navigator with the amenities of a wonderful cruise tour.
