Niubei Shan (Cow Back Mountain) is located in Yingjing County, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, at the junction of Luding County and a branch of Erlang Mountain. It is the watershed of Qingyi River and Dadu River. The mountaintop of the mountain is 3,600 meters above sea level. Because the huge boulders protrudes from the cliff on the mountaintop and looks like a bull's head, and the ridge is slender and looks like a bull's back, the mountain be named as Cow Back Mountain. The unique geographical location of the Cow Back Mountain surrounded by mountains and protruding in the middle earned it the reputation of being "The largest viewing platform in China" with a 360-degree view and an excellent photography destination. Niba Mountain, Wawu Mountain, E’mei Mountain, Jiajin Mountain, Siguniang Mountain and Erlang Mountain are in front of Niubei Mountain, Gongga Mountain (Minya Konka, 7556 m) is on the side of it, the Grand Canyon of Dadu River is behind of it, almost all the famous mountains in Sichuan became exquisite bonsai at this time.
