On this homestay tour, we will have the opportunity to stay with a nomadic family. We will learn about nomadic life through hands-on experiences: herding animals (horses, cows, goats or sheep), cooking traditional meals and fetching water. The host family is in the same city as the Amarbayasgalant Monastery. This monastery is home to more than 40 monks, some of them just eight years old.

Host Family: A local family has been kind enough to host this trip. The head of the household is named Otgonbat, and his summer ger camp is set up just off the banks of the Even River in front of the Amarbayasgalant Monastery. He has two traditional Mongolian gers—one for his family and one for guests. He has a wife and two children, a welcoming family you'll be charmed by as soon as you meet them!
