ANTARCTICA XXI has announced its 2017-18 collection of Antarctic Air-Cruises. The 2017-18 program includes 22 departures aboard two small expedition ships, the sturdy 67-passenger Ocean Nova and the deluxe 71-passenger Hebridean Sky. Three different itineraries are on offer:
Polar Circle Air-Cruise
This 10-day expedition starts in Punta Arenas, Chile. A small jet flight over Cape Horn and the Drake Passage takes travellers to King George Island, in Antarctica, where they board their expedition ship. The adventures proceed with an exploration of the Antarctic Peninsula and offers daily excursions ashore. The itinerary ventures further south and includes a crossing of the Antarctic Circle before returning to King George Island for the flight back to Punta Arenas. Rates start at $14,495 USD per person.
Classic Antarctica Air-Cruise
Travellers on this 8-day expedition board a small jet in Punta Arenas and fly over Cape Horn and the mythical waters of the Drake Passage to land at King George Island, in Antarctica. From there they continue by small expedition ship with an exploration of the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula. Every day they enjoy excursions to areas of scenic beauty and wildlife interest. Return to Punta Arenas is again by jet. Rates start at $10,995 USD per person.
Antarctica Express Air-Cruise
This introductory 6-day Antarctic adventure is perfect when combined with a tour of Patagonia. Leaving from Ushuaia, Argentina, it takes travellers along the Beagle Channel and to legendary Cape Horn. From there the expedition sails across the Drake Passage and offers travellers an adventure-packed day on the White Continent. Return is with a comfortable private flight to Punta Arenas. Rates start at $4,695 USD per person.
