Brand new and exciting destinations for 2017 include Reunion and Sumatra. Discover the mighty Piton de la Fournaise volcano in Reunion and visit the indigenous Batak Toba villages in Sumatra.

Alternatively get off the tourist trail in India or Burma and search for the Asiatic Lions in Gujarat, India – the only place in the world they can be seen in the wild or camp on the uninhabited island of Nat Thamee Yedwin in the Mergui Archipelago, southern Burma for a truly unforgettable experience.

Explore Reunion

Soak up the volcanic vistas on Explore’s new 16 day Reunion and Mauritius trip which takes in the two contrasting islands in the Indian Ocean. Walk on the crater rim of Piton Maldo and cross the scenic Cirque de Salazie, situated in the forested mountains. Uncover a side of Mauritius rarely seen by most travellers; including stargazing with a local astronomer, exploring the local markets of Mahebourg and learn how to cook traditional creole food during a cookery class in Port Louis.

Explore Highlights of SumatraVenture through jungles and past volcanoes to witness Orang-utans in their natural environment in Bohorok on Explore’s 10 day Highlights of Sumatra trip. This exciting trip includes climbing Sibayak volcano for sunrise and taking a boat ride on Lake Toba with a chance to visit the indigenous Batak Toba villages.

Explore’s new 15 day Undiscovered Burma trip is a remarkable journey to the far south of Burma, in a region that few tourists have been before. Roam around the glistening temples in Rangoon including the Shwedagon Pagoda, visit Dawei and its colonial buildings and bustling markets and camp on the secluded beaches of the tropical Mergui Archipelago, dining on freshly caught seafood.

Explore Wildlife of GujaratSituated in the north-western corner of India lies Gujarat, a region which can be visited on Explore’s 14 day Tribes and Wildlife of Gujarat trip. Search for Asiatic lions in Gir National Park – the only place in the world where these can be seen in the wild, visit Gandhi’s ashram in Ahmedabad and stop off to explore the Dwarkadhish Temple in the holy town of Dwarka. Soak up the incredible salt pan landscape and tribal villages of the Great Rann of Kutch.

Follow the journey of the Klondike Stampeders through Gold Rush country on Explore’s new 14 day Yukon Explorer trip. Discover the historic towns of Dawson and Whitehorse and take the spectacular mountain railway from Carcross to Skagway over the Rockies. Spot eagles and grizzly bears in Kluane National Park before traversing the ‘Top of the World’ Highway, one of Canada’s greatest drives.

For an epic three-week journey, try the new Adventure around the Baltic Sea which visits nine different countries. Travel from Helsinki down through the Baltics to coastal Poland, Kaliningrad and Germany, then back into Scandinavia, ending in Stockholm. See areas that few tourists visit working the way around this coastal region, including fairy tale old towns, scenic islands, Soviet war relics and alternative hippy communities.
