Dig out your finest photographs of wildlife captured anywhere on the whole wild planet: the world’s premier nature travel company, Natural Habitat Adventures, has launched its 2016 Wildlife Photo Contest. Professional and amateur photographers alike will compete to win a photography adventure with wild polar bears in Churchill, Manitoba, and a photo safari in search of wolves, bears, bison and more in Yellowstone National Park.

Take your best shot!

Nat Hab invites photographers to submit their best images to the 2016 Wildlife Photo Contest featured on the Wildlife Photo of the Day website. Photographs can be submitted electronically until 11:59 pm MDT on June 14. Starting June 15, anyone who visits the site can vote once per day for favorite photos and help choose the People’s Choice Award. In addition, a panel of expert wildlife photographers will determine the winner of the Experts’ Choice Award.

To select the People’s Choice winner, the public is invited to vote daily for a favorite photo. Each time an individual votes, they receive one entry into a drawing for the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card. Voting for the People’s Choice Award runs from June 15 until 11:59 pm MDT on July 31.

Photographers who enter the 2016 Wildlife Photo Contest have two chances to win the Grand Prizes.

The winner of the People’s Choice Award earns a spot on Nat Hab’s Classic Polar Bear Photo Adventure, a 7-day/ 6-night expedition, including roundtrip flights, valued at $7,700. This prize winner will be one of just 16 guests spending three full days photographing polar bears on the tundra with Nat Hab’s expert Photo Expedition Leaders. Head out onto the tundra in a custom Polar Rover vehicle designed for twice as many passengers as will be aboard, allowing ample room to position yourself for polar bear shots from both inside the vehicle and outdoors on an exclusive steel-mesh observation deck designed to allow safe close-up encounters.

The photographer who wins the Experts’ Choice Award will join Nat Hab’s Hidden Yellowstone Wildlife Safari. This is an 8-day/7-night expedition, including roundtrip flights, valued at $6,600. Renowned Yellowstone wildlife photographer Dan Hartman accompanies guests in the field in one of America’s most scenic national parks while tracking Yellowstone’s elusive wolves. Photographers on this trip spend a day on the ground with elk, moose, bison, bear and other resident wildlife, then float the Snake River with a chance to capture panoramas of the Grand Tetons and shots of the magnificent elk herds that are iconic residents of the Jackson Hole valley.

In addition, six Honorable Mention Awards (three from People’s Choice voting and three chosen by the Experts’ Choice jury), will be awarded. Winners will receive a $200 Gift Card to the B&H Photo Video store.

Photographers may enter up to three photos into the contest. The photos must depict wild animals in their natural habitat only. Photos of animals in wildlife conservancies or wildlife preserves are allowed – and encouraged. Anyone entering photographs or voting must be at least age 18 and live in the U.S. or Canada.
