Okavango Delta - Floods of Life

Story by Explorer X

Share

Sprawling across northwest Botswana, the serpentine waters of the Okavango Delta ebb and flow to support one of the world’s greatest displays of wildlife. Massive herds of buffaloes and antelopes trample across the floodplains, elephants splash in pristine pools, and cheetahs and lions prowl for their next meal. This marshy web of flooded plains is also as distinct as it is breathtaking, as its waters empty not into the sea but into the barren expanses of the Kalahari Desert.

Learn how the geology and ecology of this UNESCO World-Heritage Site combine to form a habitat rich in wildlife and experiences. Veteran safari guide and owner & founder of Beagle Expeditions, Simon Byron, will take you deep into the delta ecosystem with his talk on the “Floods of Life”!
