Dolpo sits on the Tibetan plateau nearby the Tibetan border. You trek through deep valleys, over high passes and will camp right next to the mesmerizing turquoise Shey Phoksundo lake.

Trekking through Dolpo is a tough and challenging adventure. The rewards are beside the impressive landscape, the encounters with the ancient Buddhist Bon culture. The Bon religion is still very much alive here and practised in the local monasteries.

Highlights of trekking in the Dolpo region:

- Tourists are scarce in this region

- Ancient monasteries and the pure Buddhist Bon religion

- Remote rugged landscape with high mountain peaks

- Shey Phoksundo lake

- Rare wildlife
