Efforts that Save the Forest

With pressure on the land coming from a variety of sources, this simple blue balloon is doing great work in Kenya and in indigenous communities.   This bio gas system takes the manure from the Maasai's herds and turns it into non polluting heating and cooking gas.   The Maasai women no longer have to forage for hours looking for firewood.  And its been estimated that 25 kilos of firewood is taken from the forest every day for every person looking for it.  And another bi-product is a highly enriched but non polluting fertiliser from the system.   One Horizon has installed dozens of these systems in communities.  For a little over $800 for each system, there is an amazing environmental return.
