Grand Trunk is pleased to co-present MAHFIA.TV’s Girlz Nite Out in Chicago as the duo celebrates the long-awaited addition of a Women’s Division to the Street League Skateboarding (SLS) Nike SB Super Crown World Championship, the only league of professional street skateboarders in the world.

Not only is Grand Trunk excited to see these girls compete at the highest level on television worldwide, they are 100-percent supportive of women’s skateboarding. To show their support, Grand Trunk is creating custom hammocks for each of the eight female professional skateboarders and releasing a limited quantity for fans to purchase, with a portion of the proceeds going to Skate Like a Girl, a nonprofit supporting female empowerment through skateboarding.

Street League Skateboarding was founded in 2010 by pro skateboarder Rob Dyrdek. The platform aims to elevate the best skateboarders in the world. And in 2015, the Super Crown World Championship will not only determine the best male street skater in the world, but also the best female street skater in the world.

Grand Trunk is a Chicago-based brand inspired by the road less traveled and those who live for the next adventure. “Men have dominated the sport of skateboarding for decades,” according to Grand Trunk’s Belinda Neff.  “The eight women competing in the championship break this mold and challenge the idea of social female norms. Grand Trunk is proud to support these amazing young women and we wish them well in the Championship!”

“We are thrilled to partner with Grand Trunk on this inaugural event as we are big fans of their products. Travel and adventure are engrained into action sports culture and represent the foundation of our passions. I am beyond excited to team up to support and celebrate these amazing women,” says MAHFIA.TV founder, Kim Woozy.

To celebrate the inaugural Women’s Division, Grand Trunk and MAHFIA.TV will co-host a reception on Friday, Oct. 2nd at the Emporium in Chicago’s Logan Square. Attendees can meet and hang out with pro skaters Lacey Baker, Vanessa Torres, Leticia Bufoni, Marisa Dal Santo, Alexis Sablone and Samarria Brevard. Food and libations will be served, in addition to games, music and raffle prizes from Grand Trunk and other sponsors.
