Free, private online community connects runners and facilitates conversations that help them manage stress and improve health through running

Run Wild Retreats + Wellness (www.runwildretreats.com), a travel company providing premier guided trail running retreats in the U.S. and Europe since 2010, today announced the launch of the Healthy Runners’ Community (www.healthyrunnerscommunity.com), a free online network that gives runners access to mindful running resources while connecting like-minded runners.

Run Wild Retreats + Wellness founder Elinor Fish created the community in response to conversations that began among retreat attendees about their desire to continue  learning how to run mindfully to better manage stress and stay motivated.

“Runners feeling overwhelmed by information about run training come to the community seeking help for challenges that make it hard for them to run consistently,” says Fish. “Whether it’s working through chronic pain or trying to balance running with life obligations, it’s comforting to find other runners who face the same things. Our members share their struggles, victories and stories in a way that makes them feel understood and supported. This matters to me on a personal level because I’m a runner living with autoimmune disease, and I wanted a space to have conversations with other runners around the challenges I was facing.”

After a soft launch last year, the community has since grown by word-of-mouth to more than 650 members, representing over 40 states and 18 countries. Runners range from beginners to advanced, with interests ranging from food to travel. Conversations span the challenges of aging, balancing running with work stress, running with chronic illness and overcoming injury.

Many runners have joined to learn more about mindful running, a core pillar of Run Wild Retreats + Wellness’ trail running retreats. In addition to connections between members, the Healthy Runners’ Community also provides webinars, workshops and guidance toward developing a sustainable, mindful running practice. Any runner may join the Healthy Runners’ Community by requesting an invitation at www.healthyrunnerscommunity.com.
