When COVID hit the world, One Horizon held its breath. For over the last few years we have focused on developing small business programs for grandmas and funding these through the fees that travelers pay. Our overseas guests remember the emotional days at our Go Granny Go tour and seeing how pigs were making a difference to grandmas lives.
Well, the pigs saved our bacon! As we all know, throughout COVID there have been no guests. But thankfully, the sales of pigs continued unabated which meant regular income for our grandmas. And within each piggery the biogas systems provided another bonus for families, free cooking fuel. So with one hand on our hearts and another covering our noses, we salute our pigs as the saviour’s of the day!
