At the end of the 2022 trekking season, Sherpa Heritage Trails conducted a second mountain clean up in the Pikey Peak area.
It was great to see that after the first clean-up in 2021, some local teahouse owners made efforts to install basic rubbish bins. This second clean up was focused on raising more awareness among locals and local tourists. We have had talks with several teahouse owners about waste management and what they can do. In 2023 Gomba Sherpa will have talks with the local authorities and the local mayor about the subjects. To be continued.
