Nepal Rebuilding tour by Mosaic adventureAs you all aware that on the 25th of April 2015, a gigantic earthquake hit Nepal resulting in the extensive damage of buildings as well thousands of deaths and injuries. Many temples, residential buildings, offices, and schools collapsed. The Nepalese people are still struggling to recover after such an unimaginably catastrophic event, but nevertheless there is something that YOU can do to HELP.

Apart from giving money or donations to local people, the most sustainable way of helping affected communities is by actually VISITING Nepal. To this end, Mosaic Adventure have put together an itinerary that seeks to target certain families for four days in one rural village in the Dhading district, followed by a short trek to Poon Hill in the Annapurna region. By joining this tour, you’ll be contributing not only to the sustainable re-development of a village community, but also to the sustainable economic development of its principal industry -tourism – by making sure that tour guides and porters start work once again.

Dhading is one of the fourteen districts severely affected by the earthquake of the 25th April. There are many villages in Dhading in which the earthquake has damaged literally 100% of all the houses, completely destroying 80%. Out of all the people directly affected bythe devastation, our target group is the “Dalits”, an underprivileged group in the Nepalese caste system (you can find some information on Dalits at http://www.dwo.org.np/dalit.php). Our main focus here will be in the re-building of houses in some rural villages where no help from the government or other non-governmental organizations has reached. We will be helping these underprivileged people build their houses using local resources such as recycled materials (eg. wood, bamboo, stone etc) from their OLD houses. As most of their houses are damaged, these people will definitely need volunteers to help them rebuild their houses and get their lives back to normal.

So Join us, then, if you consider yourself to be one of those who want to support the Nepali people in re-generating their communities whilst savoring a genuine Nepalese travel experience.
