Luxury Tented Camps and Accomplished Guide Add Value to Perennial Best-Selling Safaris

Seattle, WAZegrahm Expeditions, the world leader in small-ship cruising and overland adventures, is returning to Africa in 2014 with two signature wildlife safaris. Classic Botswana explores the country’s largely untouched landscapes with exploration that embodies the essence of romantic, vintage Africa, while Back to Africa: Namibia, Botswana, and Zambia was created for travelers who have already visited the continent and are looking for an in-depth safari experience.  Both itineraries are led by Lex Hes, one of the finest bush guides on the continent, and feature the region’s best tented camps.

“We have been offering safaris to Africa for over 20 years and during that time have fine-tuned the itineraries and safari camps we use to ensure our guests have the maximum wildlife viewing potential in each region we visit,” stated Zegrahm President Edwin Blythe. “From winding through the channels of the Okavango Delta in a dugout canoe in search of water-adapted plant and animal species to night safaris using spotlights to seek out rare nocturnal creatures, these expeditions are Africa adventure travel at its very best.”

Lex Hes is a renowned naturalist and wildlife photographer.  Born and educated in Johannesburg, South Africa, Hes has been involved with wildlife for almost 30 years.  With five books to his credit and an infinite amount of innate knowledge on Africa’s ecosystems, Hes’ easygoing personality makes him a perennial guest favorite.

Back to Africa combines three remarkable countries—Namibia, Botswana, and Zambia.  On this Africa expedition, travelers will enjoy a staggering array of wildlife from desert rhino to Thornicroft’s giraffe, via chartered aircraft and 4x4 vehicles.  The expedition takes place February 1 -21, 2014 and is priced from $21,880 per person.

Classic Botswana, August 17 – September 2, 2014, offers adventurers the opportunity to find major wildlife: elephant, buffalo, lion, hippo, plains antelope, leopard, cheetah, and more.  Additionally, well over half of Africa’s most endangered carnivore, the wild dog, is found in Botswana.  Priced from $18,770 per person.
