The Bride is Stolen and Carried Away

One Horizon's unique grass roots experiences that travelers delight in, was shown in essence, on the 14th August when it attended, along with lucky guests, to the wedding of Risa and Maggie.  Many people who have been on a One Horizon experience will remember Risa.   So in a diay with great colour, vibrancy, incredible singing and dancing, the wedding was conducted.   Many of the traditions of Maasai weddings were seen.  And in the video provided here,  the ritualistic stealing of the bride by the groom and best men was undertaken.  The bride was whisked away in great fun, with the villages fighting in a symbolic and happy way to resist the bride being taken.   This video provides a snippet of those events
